Within 10-15 mins from the beach: Mini golf, Fun Town SplashTown USA Theme park with Roller Coasters, Candy Store, Horseracing, Fine Dining Restaurants and Take Outs Clam Bakes,Campgrounds, and golf courses. Also in the area is Wood Island Lighthouse, and Old port at portland waterfront.
No charge at the beach however, parking areas around the beach are mostly per day $5-$10, or parking meters all along the beachfront road, bring american coin.
